Last Pup Standing

The baby sand tiger shark is a fierce breed of winners. Why? In the womb, during a progess called "invitro cannibalization" the baby sharks fight, kill and eat each other until the strongest remains, and is born. Wow.

Can you imagine if human beings produced offspring in the same manner? Imagine a planet full of pushy, aggressive jerks, fighting for supremacy. Kind of like America I suppose.

The human race wouldn't survive if this were to occur however. You can't have a population full of leaders. You need leaders, and you need followers. If everyone is a leader, then it seems to be a categorical imperative that no one is a leader. Sort of like that irritatingly cheesy saying, "You are unique, just like everyone else."

Now imagine, a populace full of natural born leaders with no one to lead. Talk about cognitive dissonance. Everyone would lead an existence totally at odds with their natural tenancies and belief systems.

Thank god we are not sharks.
